My Foresight Friday Interpretation:
Hey there! We survived another week, friends. The Solstice came and went, so it's officially summer. The garden is coming along nicely. Miss Lefty is still cute & cuddly, but my oldest grandkid turns 14 in a few days! 🤯
I guess life is just gonna keep on life-ing, so let's get some advice from these cards. ..
Depicted on this card is the big ol' face of The Devil (complete with devilish grin), floating in front of a background of intense flames. Inset at the bottom corners we see the frightened faces of those who are labeled "the enslaved woman" & "the enslaved man".
It should also be noted that the Devil has an inverted pentacle on his forehead. This indicates that we are dealing with things of the material world.
This ominous, yet campy, looking card suggests we're not in the best place. We may be dealing with feelings of being trapped, or tempted by numerous vices. We could also just be feeling powerless.
Here's the thing though: we're not powerless. Much like the 8 of Swords, we're in a prison of our own making.
Sure, there's likely someone trying to cast themselves as the villain in our story. But, they're not really in charge of us, or what we do.
The only one who truly has power over us and our actions is US.
The Devil is just a bully trying to exploit our fears for his own gain and/or amusement.
So, whether we're struggling with Over-Indulgence (in substances, work, food, spending, etc), or are feeling stuck in a bad situation (awful job, toxic/abusive relationship/living situation), or are just feeling stuck in a rut we've yet to figure out how to escape... this card is telling us that WE are our way out.
We have to break free of the illusion that we are trapped, because we're not. All we have to do is get up the gumption to make a meaningful step in the right direction.
Our support systems will help us, but we've got to be the ones to make the first move. So, let's get moving and leave The Devil in the dust!
I'm taking next week off to spend the 4th of July weekend away with an amazing group of friends (you know who you are 😉).
