Foresight Friday: Get Back in the Fight
Divination Method: The Princess Bride Tarot
Card Drawn: 8 of Swords
Key Words: Feeling Trapped, Anxiety, Under Pressure, Feeling Powerless
My Foresight Friday Interpretation:
It's April!!! The evenings are still chilly, and we've had a boatload of rain, but my spirits are lifted a bit more with each new day. I'm hoping the same is true for all of you magnificent peeps.
Ok, enough yapping. Let's get down to business...
I'm still using The Princess Bride Tarot, and it was a long shuffle. But, eventually, our card was revealed.
The card that begrudgingly presented itself to us this week is the 8 of Swords.
Depicted on this card is our boy Westley, strapped to The Machine, in the Pit of Despair. If we look at the wheel of The Machine, we can see 8 swords that appear to be a part of the mechanism.
What does this mean? It means we're feeling stuck...or, more precisely, trapped. We're feeling the weight of our fears and anxiety, and have wrapped ourselves in a cloak of hopelessness.
In this moment, it's as if we were the one strapped to The Machine when Humperdink turned it up to 50.
But, y'know what? Westley was only Mostly Dead after his ordeal, and - in essence - so are we.
As Miracle Max so eloquently stated: "Mostly Dead is Slightly Alive" and that means that we're not done yet.
We're in a weakened state, and feel helpless, but we cannot give in to Despair! If we simply take a deep breath, and a step back we'll see that the swords above us are firmly affixed and cannot really harm us.
If we stay where we are out of fear, our chance at a happy ending will be lost. Only through courage and action can we be triumphant.
So, let's get up, and get back in the fight.
Until Next Time, Pixilators!
