Foresight Friday: Don't Be Defined by Your Mistakes

Divination Method: Supernatural Tarot

Card Drawn: 5 of Goblets

Key Words: Disappointment, Loss, Failure

My Foresight Friday Interpretation:

Welcome back to Pixieland, Friends! It's been a busy week of dental work, family obligations and planning in my world. My hope is that you've all been doing well.

And now it's time for *drumroll please* this week's reading...

I'm sticking with the Supernatural tarot this week. After a good long shuffle this week's card just flipped over on the top of the deck. Alrighty then! That means that our card for the coming week is the 5 of Goblets.

Depicted on this card is Gadreel. At one time he was Chuck's (God's) most trusted angel, and was therefore charged with keeping evil out of the Garden of Eden... Welp, as the story goes, Lucifer slithered his way in...got someone to eat some fruit which apparently resulted in the corruption all of humanity. Woopsie!

The 5 of Goblets from the Supernatural Tarot by Minerva Siegel.

Gadreel is then told he's a disappointment, chided by the other angels, and thrown into a dark dungeon to be tortured for thousands of years. I think that we can all agree that the treatment he endured for having the audacity to make a mistake is complete and utter bullshit.

Gadreel becomes obsessed with redeeming himself, and when he gets out of the dungeon, his actions are a mixed bag. He's blinded by the need to regain the respect of his family, and - even though he does do some good things (like saving Sam's life) - he also allows himself to be deceived by Metatron and does a bunch of sketchy shit after being told that it's necessary to get back into Heaven's good graces.

So, how does all of that pertain to us? It seems that we're dwelling on mistakes we've made, or disappointments we've suffered. Hell, it may even be that we're enduring a ridiculous amount of scorn from those we've held dear. Whatever the case...it's weighing on us.

What do we do about it? We need to do our damndest to not let it weigh us down. A mistake is just a mistake. Any negative outcomes that resulted were not intentional, nor were they caused by us alone.

The 5 of Goblets is here to tell us that we should stop letting others characterize us by them. We are NOT defined by our mistakes. We are defined by how we move on from them.

Becoming preoccupied with redemption or regaining respect will lead to missing important things that are happening in our lives RIGHT NOW.

It's time to lighten our emotional load by putting the past where it belongs...behind us.

Until Next Time, Pixilators!
