My Foresight Friday Interpretation:

Happy Friday, Friends! I was feeling a bit under the weather last week, so I decided to focus on rest & healing rather than try and muddle through a reading with a foggy brain. But, I'm much better now. The only sniffles remaining are allergy related (but: Oof...allergies).

Ok, let's get on with it!

I'm sticking with Ask The Witch tarot this week, and the card that has presented itself to us today is the 9 of Swords in the reversed position.

The 9 of Swords from the Ask the Witch tarot, in the reversed position.

Depicted on the 9 of Swords is a woman, sitting up in bed with her face buried in her hands. Hanging on the wall above her bed are (unsurprisingly) 9 swords. It appears as though she has woken from a dreadful nightmare and is still lost in the depths of despair that its images made her feel.

Swords are generally the teller of sharp truths. A lot of folks fear the suit of swords the way they fear the Death & Tower cards. I don't think this is necessary though. The suit of swords merely cuts through the crap and tells us things that we perhaps don't WANT to hear, but need to.

So what is our card trying to tell us? Even though it's reversed, this card still brings with it the acknowledgement of feelings of stress and/or despair brought about by the struggles of life - whether they be situational or from mental illness. Where it differs from the meaning of the upright card, is that it signals the light at the end of the tunnel.

The end of struggles won't just happen though, we must be active participants in bringing it about. The biggest thing we can do to help ease our struggles is simple, in theory, but can often be the most difficult thing to do: ask for help.

The type of help will depend on the circumstances, of course. It could be hiring a professional to complete a task that is beyond our skill set, or it could be opening up to a close friend, loved one, or mental health professional in order to lighten our emotional load.

I see this card as a signal to move forward...towards the light. Remember that any progress is still progress, and even the slowest movement is better than being stagnant.

Now is the time to do precisely what the legendary Four Tops told us to do way back in 1966: Reach Out!!

So go ahead and listen to this classic for some inspiration, and I'll catch you all on the flip side. 😘
