My Foresight Friday Interpretation:

Hey there, Pixilators! I hope you’re all doing alright and that you were able to roll with whatever The Universe threw at you this past week.

Now, take a deep breathe...because, this next week could be a little rough...

This week’s card made me let out an audible groan. Anytime a card from the suit of Swords appears people tend to freak out because they think it means bad things. In actuality, it means we’re dealing with things that are associated with the element of Air. Those are communication, intelligence, & action. They tend to refer to changes, power, and conflicts; as well as our inner tendencies to both create and destroy.

It’s not always a bad thing...but Swords do tend to indicate a time in which our sailing is not entirely smooth. This coming week is no exception.

The 9 of Swords is not a pleasant looking card. It is devoid of color and depicts nightmarish images that are entangled in a jumbled mess that is seemingly being stabbed by 9 swords. Not exactly the picture of a good time.

The 9 of Swords indicates a period wrought with anxiety, nightmares, and sleepless nights. We may find ourselves feeling guilty, depressed, or generally overwhelmed.

The 9 of Swords card from The Wild Unknown Tarot

It is a card that speaks to a period in which we are entrenched in a battle with ourselves. We’re obsessing over things we cannot control, and may be having thoughts that are on the dark side. That little asshole version of the self may be whispering its lies about us, hoping to send us on a mental downward spiral.

While we may be having a rough go of it, we must be diligent in seeking help and support from others in our respective circles. If we get too caught up in the whirlwind of our own dark thoughts and worries, we will feed that monster to the point of ensuring elf-fulfilling prophecies of doom and gloom.

The 9 of Swords is reminding us that the struggles are primarily in our minds, and things are rarely as bad as we tend to think they are.

We need to do what we can to get through the week. That means being self-aware, not isolating ourselves, finding time to do things that bring us joy.

We need to keep the lines of communication open. Whether that’s with friends, family, a therapist, or some other third party is up to the individual, but we need to remember that our loved ones are there for us.

I’ll finish by paraphrasing Bette Davis’ character in All About Eve by saying: Fasten your seat belts, it’s going to be a bumpy week.

Until Next Time, Pixilators

Wishing You Peace, Love, & Pixie Dust
