My Foresight Friday Interpretation:

This week my cards aren’t pulling any punches. We’re facing harsh truths, and while we won’t like them very much, we must listen and learn.

This week’s card is Sacrifice, reversed. This is The Sacred Circle Tarot’s equivalent of The Hanged Man. No matter how this card presents itself (upright or reversed) it relates to the sacrifices that need to be made, and a need to surrender to the way things are, in order to be able to move on and succeed in our endeavors.

Sacrifice card, Reversed from The Sacred Circle Tarot
Surrender appearing in the reversed position indicates that we’ve been fighting against
doing all we need to. We’re trying to micromanage the situation and hold on to things and ideals that are only contributing to our detriment at this time. Like it or not, we must surrender to what is happening in order to get past it.

What is this thing we’re dealing with? While few may have other situations happening in their lives that this card speaks to, the majority of us are dealing with COVID-19. Those of us, who’ve been trying our best to follow regulations and guidelines, may have gotten a little lax in doing so.

Here in NY State, I think it’s because the initial outbreak occurred largely in the New York City area, and the rest of the state had numbers that were relatively low. Numbers remained low due to stringent stay at home guidelines. As months went on, and the numbers remained low, people became weary and chose to believe that the threat was not as dire because it had yet to affect them personally.

People began to gather in larger groups, and I have personally observed an increasing number of people disregarding mask mandates.

And now, our numbers are overwhelming…not just in my hometown, but nationwide (I have heard similar stories from friends in the U.K.).

So, this next week is about doing what we need to do to get through the winter with as few deaths as possible. We need to do more than send our healthcare & essential workers ‘Thoughts & Prayers’. We need to prove that we care about them by wearing masks, washing our hands, and staying the fuck home as much as humanly possible.

We mustn’t gather in large groups, no matter how much we miss being with our people. If we sacrifice our time with them NOW, we are more likely to be able to spend enormous amounts of time with them LATER.

We must let go of what we want right now, in order to get what we all need later. It’s really that simple. I know it’s not easy to stay away from those we love…but being away from them temporarily beats the hell out of living without them permanently.

On a personal note, I take great issue with folks that claim that this is "BS". I have dear friends on the front lines in both the health care and funeral industries, and what they are seeing and experiencing is horrendous and heartbreaking. The most infuriating part is that if everyone (Including our supposed Leader) had just done what needed to be done, many of these deaths could likely have been prevented. My heart breaks for all of those who have lost loved ones...

I hope you all remain safe, and that you manage to find a way to enjoy your holidays.

Remember to be kind…because, so many are experiencing hardships of one sort or another.

Until Next Time, Pixilators
