My Foresight Friday Interpretation: 

Last week we were sailing on some emotional seas…this week, however, it’s time to fly above them towards something new.

The Albatross is a bird built for long arduous journeys. They spend their time soaring above the ocean, enduring grueling weather conditions, heading towards a destination that lies far beyond their sight.

While it may seem as though this is a tremendous amount of work, the truth of it is that the most difficult part of their trip is the take-off and the landing. The flight itself is actually fairly easy, comparatively speaking. They are built for it. Their wings are massive and shaped in a manner that catches the air and helps them to glide along for great distances with little effort.

So what does this have to do with us? Well, it seems that it’s time to embark on a new journey. This isn’t something we’re going to see the finished product of any time soon…this is the long game.

Something is calling us…we may not quite recognize what it is yet, but we must gather our strength in order to take to the air and trust ourselves enough to know that we will recognize our destination when we are finally able to see it.

It’s likely that many of us already have a whole lot going on, but our large winged friend is here to advise us to not get swept away by the waves of our current circumstances, but to look beyond them, and to focus our sites on this new horizon of ours. 

There is no rush or pressure to get where we’re going. Enjoy the scenery along the way, and we’ll be there when we get there. 

Now fasten your seatbelts, make sure your seats and tray tables are in their upright position, and take a deep breath because we’re ready for take-off.
